Cool truck!

Looks to be in great shape, any chance you could post a video of it running, also any history, repairs or replaced parts? Interested but live on east coast so will need to get additional photos/pics? Thx

just noticed the pics of the uncarriage and front suspension look like another truck, body panels and front grill are green????

I don't intend to be critical of your all original vehicle, but I instantly notice the jump seats, the overall gray color of the interior, and the roll bar assembly - are from a 1979 to '84 vehicle. And perhaps the black pads on the front dash too ?

Also missing, besides the OEM carburetor, is the OEM ID plate on the firewall. Why would that be missing ?

(I didn't look at anything else. Those items caught my eye quickly enough)

Regardless, looks solid.

There is an OEM manufacturers plate to the left of the battery. The bottom dash pads are period Correct for a 74, they started doing those pads in 72, check specteroffroad.com. Your 4 dark gray seat covers are new, most likely from cool cruisers ( I ordered the same exact ones). The original gray color for seat covers on a 74 is a light gray, I still have my original seat covers on ( i’ve had my 74 for 25 years). There is no original headliner, it’s just painted, which is the obvious sign the rig has been partially restored.
A Sweet rig, best of luck getting the most out of her.

Hello Dmac

Thank you for your interest in the FJ40. If its okay, please send me a private message with your telephone number and i can Whatsapp to you more pictures and videos or Email.

I wont lie,, I dont have prior history on the car and the FJ40 was bought as is and kept as is for the past years. The vehicle belongs to my Dads friend and he asked me to help sell the car for him. He has kept the car very clean. I would think he has only done tuneups to it and change the oils. My father is a great experienced mechanic for over 45 years and if he had any big major issues on this FJ40 then he would of told my dad of the problems but he never has. This Fj40 has not had any major issues while it was in his possesion. Honestly, I have barely seen him drive the car. He takes it out of the garage once or twice a month.

He did tell me when he purchased the car it did not have rear seats, he added the seats later.

I always told him to get rid of the wheels and tires.

The vehicle is in my Possesion until it sells. I will drive the car tomorrow and make a video so to send it to you.. if i can post the video in the forum as well , I will..

Thank you

I’m fairly certain your cruiser has been through a partial restore/fix up in the past. Cool rig with plenty of originality though.

Thank you 74B
40 belongs to my dads friend and he had bought the car as is and only had added the rear seat.. I have no clue of the restore/fix up prior to his purchase. The switches, seats, gauges look all new. Drivetrain is strong.

Hello Sky

You are not being critical at all. I am actually glad you are bringing these things up. When i meant original, I only say it because it comes with its original engine, tranmsission, Vin plate, Chassis. The rest of the car is all secondary to me. No disrespect.

The vin plate is behind the battery.. Most probably the seat have been reupholstered.
