Ok Guys ... I have just found another cruiser..this one is a 73 fj40 from costa rica as well. I am assuming that since it is over 25 yrs, it will be able to be registered in California with no issues. Has anyone tried bringing in an original fj40 with a F motor.

Your '73 FJ should be no problem as long as it meets Federal Safety Standards. '75 and prior year model vehicles are exempt from emmission requirements and smog test in CA.

After 25 years I believe you can import and drive just about anything and title and drive it in the US.
