GOLD Star
Hello all! Since early spring, I've had the privilege to own one of the finest vehicles I've ever driven, an 07 GX470 in Cypress.
Things seemed to be at a stall point with my previous vehicle, the 80 series. Ive owned two. However after combing through my 95 with a great baseline, I lost it to an accident. I found another, a 94. At that point in my life I couldnt own a 31 year old truck that needed to be completely baselined. I couldnt give it the love I wanted to. I needed to move on and find something I didnt have to work on too much on the weekends. I will return to an 80 one day.
Anyhow, I was always lurking at the J120 platform and found it modern enough and still worthy of the J designation as a serious fire trail rig that I could keep close to stock and still enjoy. My wheeling and modifying hobby of my early twenties is long gone. I always loved that Cypress green and long searched for a GX or LX that fit my standards. I finally found an 07 one owner from Los Altos. California. I flew out to San Francisco that weekend. By Monday night the purchase was complete and I started the long, beautiful drive home. Ive had the 2UZ before in a Sequoia, but never the smaller body of the GX. It is truly a dream to drive. Here are some pictures of my journey that took 2 days of driving back to Illinois. I drove 16 hours straight the first day from Napa, California to Jackson, Wyoming. Then finished up driving 14 hours to Illinois. The GX performed flawlessly. This feels like a rocket ship compared to my old 80 series.
