Thanks for the plug, I did call Mark and saw his post with one for sale. I was browsing his website yesterday and overlooked that carrier.
Are you still looking for a 1980 tire carrier? They have the added vertical tube near the hinges, and the hinges are a little different than the earlier tube style. I'm near Placerville, Calif. might hit your "very expensive" on your want ad tho. Cheaper to buy one back east and ship it, if it is the correct one. E-mail pardion@comcast.net if interested.
