Can it be done and what would it require? I have a really good reliable 3F Toyota motor in my comp truck on straight lpg its great was rebuilt a few years back now and is better than ever now its breathing gas dose not miss a beat. The problem is i am chewing through cromo axles and i think an auto will help this and also be easier to drive. So i have a good C4 auto here how and what needs to happen for it to mate to the 3F? Before you say it no i don’t want to swap to bigger diffs or motor swap till i look at this opinion.

Hi all,

FJ73, sorry, I've never heard of a Ford C4 auto tranny adapter to a Toyota 3F engine.

But, in the USA market the FJ62 wagon was sold with the 3F-E engine and a Toyota automatic transmission.

I don't remember the model of auto trans used in the USA-market FJ62 (look in the 60/62 Series section) but perhaps they exist in your country (Australia, per chance? ) so an easy swap for you using all factory parts.

Good luck,

Alan

even thought you dont want to hear it pursue another avenue one thats proven reliable and easy to get parts for.

All you would need is a custom flexplate and bellhousing.

Just a couple little things.
