I have been chasing a battery drain issue and finally stumbled upon this.

After shutting the car off, I'm still hearing static and pops from the speakers. My guess it's the amp not shutting off with the car. I pulled the Radio 30 fuse under the hood and the sound went away along with my battery drain.

Now, I am just looking for some help on how to fix it. My guess is it's an amp issue and it will need to be rebuilt, but most of the issues people seem to have are related to low/no noise. Is there anything else I should look at, or just try a replacement amp?

The only mod I have on that circuit is a Grom VLine.

I have exactly the same issue. Did you find a solution?

Not sure this diagram covers all years and ML or non-ML but maybe it will help.

If it was me and had nothing to lose (before sending in the amp for service) I'd experiment with disconnecting that main power at the amp via a switch, relay or feeding it with ignition instead of constant power.

I think my only concern would be if that constant power is needed for presets of any kind, radio stations, etc... etc.....

i guess replacing the amp with an aftermarket one may be an option also

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. It shows on this diagram as always hot for power to amp so it must be intended that the amp be able to control the off and on internally. Hmmm.
