I’ve owned a similar number and the ECT always changes the shift points and makes the vehicle “feel” like it accelerates faster. On my ‘16 before the TSB, it even mitigated some of the clunky 1-2/2-1 shifting.

we own 5 LC's and I still don't truly know if that button does anything...
I only do it because the instruction manual says to. Sometimes i forget and the LC still tows just fine. I am leaving on another 2500 mile fly fishing trip tomorrow and will be towing my camper all over the Cascades. The 200 makes it effortless. It was bit more difficult in my 100 but still doable. In the FJ60 with the original 2F? Yeah, no thanks.

If you're heavy on the throttle then it does nothing.

If you are light/normal on your throttle then it just delays your shift points to hold lower gears a bit longer. Makes the vehicle feel sportier when unladen, and helps keep you in the optimal torque and HP range when accelerating while towing. But again if you push into the throttle you won't notice much if any difference.

I thought the primary purpose was to make the fuel gauge needle move faster towards E? :p
And it does go faster to E.

I only use it because I have a light foot. When there are people behind me I use it in the mountains on long drives. It keeps my speed constant going up a grade. I tend to keep the throttle pressure constant. We have some long dirt roads that are short cuts from spring to fall. The speed limit is 25 but everyone goes 40-45. It just helps with my light foot. I do notice the difference and I'm sure who every is behind me appreciates it. But its not like N2O.
