Buying a '16 LC - worst dealership/car buying experience of my life!

I will second everything @wardharris said about Eric Murphy and CBT. They were the ones that finally got my new 2017 electrical problem fixed. I would say his prices are reasonable. He offers the club discount for labor.

I'm tickled that you mentioned the salesman, Mo. I bought my first and second Cruisers from Mo in '91 and '93. I didn't get my '17 from CBT because their sales manager (not Mo) balked when I told him the price I locked in with Earnhardt out in Mesa. He may have literally laughed at me over the phone. Their loss.

After the problems I encountered with my suspension install at a free-standing 4x4 shop recently, I vow never to get mods done anywhere else but CBT. Fool me once...
Sir, you made my day. Thank you!

I custom ordered an FJ cruiser from GST. It took like 3 months but it had everything I wanted. With the LC I bought off the lot so I don't know about ordering an LC but other models, you can order from GST. My dealer is Sterling McCall on the SW fwy.

Btw welcome to the club!

Interesting, Sterling McCall had zero interest in custom ordering a '13 LC for me a few years back. Granted, I was using the Costco Auto program, but they wanted me to buy the white one they had sitting on the lot (that had been sitting so long the battery was completely dead).

Costco Auto put me in touch with a dealer in Austin that was more than happy to order the exact one I wanted. Two months later I picked it up with zero hassle.

(Sterling McCall Lexus, however, tossed me the keys to a new 570 for a solo test drive without a second thought. I was impressed with the level of service, but their inability to go below MSRP combined with the general level of ridiculous of the 570 drove me off.)

So glad I stumbled on this thread. As an infrequent poster here I'm finally at the point where I'm looking at mods for my 2009 LC. New wheels, tires and an OME suspension job are on the list. I'm a little curious as to the suspension issues @FDMD had at a local 4x4 shop as I'm just about to contact one or two of these shops to start discussing my mods. Would you mind sharing or messaging me with what happened or point me to a thread on it? A dealership would be one of the last places I'd think to bring my rig to for an aftermarket OME job but I'll happily reach out to CBT based on @wardharris recommendation. For the record, my LC was purchased at Big Two Toyota in Chandler/Gilbert.
