Despite being ridiculed by most Toyota owners, I bought an extended warranty on my FJ Cruiser.
I had Pistons seize in both front brake calipers due to corrosion.
Replacing front calipers at a dealer is very expensive. It would have cost well over the cost of an extended warranty.
Chances are you may not need it but it's like insurance.
I also had a wheel bearing go bad. In the end I came out way ahead.
Toyotas are reliable, especially LC's. But things happen and they can be costly if fixed at a dealership.
Sure, you can replace front calipers for cheap if you buy cheap remanufactured crappy calipers. But not sure most Toyota owners would want that.
