I just had the Transmission, diffs, and T-Case serviced at the Lexus Dealer and when I got it home (20 min interstate drive) there was a distinct burning smell.

I checked the transmission fluid and the level seems correct. Could there have been a little overflow that is burning off?

Anything else I should be checking? Is this a non issue as long as it does not occur again? Should I take it back immediately?

Take a flashlight and just look it all over for any spillage. Unless the diffs or tcase were burning up because they didnt have ANY/Not enough fluid...never know with dealerships. I'd account it to overflow myself...but I'd get under and check anyways.

If you really feel like being a pain call and complain and make them come tow it back to the dealership while giving you a loaner while they check it over, haha.

I had a brand new RX350 today. Had 1400 miles. It was fun, hard to keep the foot out of but once I got back in the LX and well, it was like getting home after a long trip and getting into your own bed. The low end on the 4.7 really is unreal.

I think I'll pull it out tomorrow and check for any leaking and warm it up and then pull it back in and see what's what.

I'm betting overflow, but I'm still gonna call tomorrow and ask them to document it just in case it blows up in a week from now.

No oil change. Drove it a little this morning and when I got home the smell was there but much lighter. I called Lexus just to make certain it was documented. Went underneath and could not find anything leaking and nothing was on the garage floor. Pretty certain it was just some spillage.
