Don't be such a luddite! I take it you haven't tried any of the current Bluetooth streaming technology. Years ago it may have been true. But it's come a LONG way.

Yes, I'm a luddite, guilty as charged. I just wanted the OP to know he's not alone.

What do you call the guy who replies to every post with "You should just do what I'm doing" ? Is there a name for that?

And no, I haven't heard the latest technology but I do have an open mind so when I see you at the next event be prepared to impress me. That is if you're not off hiding in the woods again! :flipoff2:

Haha ZING! Sound quality in my 80 sucks. I need to upgrade all the cardboard speakers. I think most don't even emit sound anymore. But the head unit in our 2014 4Runner, man that thing is nice. Makes your forget you're streaming music from a phone, even with crappy downloaded files. When playing a high quality ripped file, you'll be blown away.

Maybe one day when I can afford a new car I'll have the latest in digital audio. Until then I'll keep making my own mix tapes.....er, CD's!

What ever you do don't touch the speakers or they will turn to dust paper cones and almost 20 years no bueno!

i have an updated unit.....usb, SD card, AUX in, bluetooth and dvd.....and i still like to burn my own CDs...too many gadgets in the cruiser just adds a wiring mess of chargers.....i use my android phone as dashcam (which needs ot be on charger) and GPS, another charger.

i select and english play list in the USB, another genre in the SD card, arabic on the CD and other various on the phone(but rarely use).

Burn the CDs as audioCD otherwise they wont work on older units....and also make sure to Close session when burning ends otherwise it wont work on many units even the new ones. If your unit has MP3 written on it u can just burn those as files (MP3 or AAC) to the CD making sure you also Close or End Recording Session based on the burning software you use.
