geo, that looks great! hard to tell from the pics, how much traction does the duplicolor bedliner paint give? Providing a :princess: step is a need for me as well.

Just from grabbing it, it feels pretty grippy. Almost kind of rubbery. I'll have to see how it really grips once they're on the truck, and there's a nice coating of icy road grime on them.

I got the bumper and sliders on yesterday as planned, but did not get the chance to take any pics yet. Hopefully I can get some posted here this week.

The :princess: approves the form/function of both the bumper and sliders

The duplicolor bedliner works well as a grip enhancer on the sliders, again, :princess: approves of it as a step (she's 5'3".)

Got my front bumper on yesterday as well....finishing up turn signals and RIGID LED lightbar today and will take pics and post...

Any thoughts on adding the duplicolor bedliner to the top of my sliders? They are slippery. Is it roll on or spray? Where can you buy it and do you think it will stick to powder coat?

Thanks.

PS - Posting without pics is just wrong. ;<)

I just wiped the sliders down with a rag soake with "PrepAll", and sprayed the duplicolor (yes, it was in a rattle can) directly on the bare metal (as per the can's insructions).

I don't see why you can't spray it on top of the powdercoating, but you will want to clean them off real good first, and maybe scuff them up a but with a scotchbright pad or something first.

I got the spray from Franks Auto Supermarket.

I hope to take some pics when I get home to satisfy the onlookers.

OK: So I took some pics when I got home from work.
I only took one pic of the process of installing the bumper, it was taken after the brackets for the factory bumper were cut off. I needed to grind down the frame rail a little bit to get the bumper to slide on, and I needed one shim on the passenger side to make it sit level.

Overall, it was a simple job, and was easily done in a couple of hours by myself. My buddy come over AFTER I had it on, then off again, then on again, and all lined up... and off again to mount the winch and lights.

The Rigid Foglights are aweseome. They put out brilliant light, and look sweet in the bumper. I ended up just cutting off the stock fog light connector (i already cut off the factory bumper mounts... so I won't be needing the factory fog lights again). And used crimp connectors to tie in the new light harness. There are quick disconnects for the lights, so if/when the bumper has to come off, it will be easy to do.

And some more pics:

You can see the texture of the bedliner on the sliders. They seem to have plenty of grip so far.

And one more pic of the bumper with the fog lights and driving lights on:

That bedliner looks awesome! I think I will just coat my tjm with that instead of goin with semigloss next time

Very nice, love the led fogs, even like the nipple rings, I mean recovery shackles. :p

Looks great!! I really like your setup. If you get a chance, would you mind taking a few pics with the door open from the driver and rear passenger doors? I am trying to determine if there is enough room to use as a step or if I need to go the slider step route from BIOR.

Great looking bumper. Did you paint the body as well?

Yeah, I sprayed the bottom of the rocker panels with rubberized undercoating. There were a couple of small spots that looked prone to rusting, so I just cleaned off the entire length, taped it off and sprayed it down. I sprayed from what you see in the pic, down under the truck, and back up between the body and the frame rail.

That stuff takes forever to dry. I eventually had to drive, while it was still slightly tacky, but it seems to be OK.

I just got to take some pics this afternoon. Here are some from the driver's door and rear driver's door. I have no problems using them to get stuff on the roof rack (I don't need the step to get into the truck, I'm 6"4' and mostly legs).

The shoes I'm wearing in the pic are size 13. These first three pics are all at the driver's door.

Ha, 6'4, mostly legs, size 13....you sounds like my twin, Geo. :D

Thanks for the pics, the :princess: will be happy to know that my "expensive metal running boards" can be used as steps.

Side-impact protection bars with improved step traction are clearly worth the money when you have important passengers.

She's lucky you were thinking about her when you got these instead of something that would primarily benefit you. ;)

And here is the Rear Driver's side:

Geo,

Thanks for getting these pics up. That is exactly what I was looking for. Appears to be plenty of room to use the sliders as steps.
