I got an email from Mike at Bump it Offroad (BIO) yesterday, as he is going to start building my bumper and sliders later this week :) .

I wanted to start a new thread detailing the install with some pics, as well as my impressions of my new gear.

Why I decided to go with BIO bumper and sliders:
I have liked what i've seen so far from others on Mud and their experiences with BIO.
I like the design and apparent quality of construction of the bumper, good approach angle, beefy recovery points, etc.
The sliders have the bump-out at the rear, which I think adds some extra security to rear quarter panel protection.
The outboard tubing of the sliders are larger diameter than most others (at 1 3/4").

I have added a few things to the bumper, such as a CB antenna mount, driving light mounts, integrated fog lights, and mounts for tree branch guide wires. Mike has been great to work with in helping to design personalized details, and customer service has been great so far.

I should receive the goods before Christmas, and will post up some pics and install details as the project progresses.

Stay Tuned!

Update: Bumper and Sliders should be delivered today or tomorrow! I'm hoping to get a call this afternoon from the guys at my shop saying that they have arrived.

Here it is pre shipping...to go out today on her way to Charleston SC. I will include full install pics and such in build thread as soon as possible.

Center hoop is forward about 20* to allow for clearance of my LX grille that lifts with hood. Think this is his first Lexus version so I am guinea pig but we took a lot of measurements so should work.

yellow items on ends of bumper are LED turn signals to connect to my Lexus wires since our signals are in bumper and not in headlight housing like Land Cruiser. I am also the test mule for these...LOL

Then you will notice two brackets hanging down from center hoop...
That is for a Rigid 10" LED Offroad Light Bar! :)

I was going to put it on bumper in that hoop but covered hole for winch too much...

a Titan 12k Winch is being stuffed into her as well....and yes I am testing the fitment for that as well. :D:D

I am psyched.

Brock, Do you still have the AHC installed? If so, I am interested in what changes in handling and load capacity you discover. I was close to buying a front and rear bumper as well as sliders from Slee a couple of years ago, but chose not to trade away load and trailer tongue capacity. If I remember correctly, I was going to lose a couple of hundred pounds of capacity and risked not getting the "normal" suspension height when traveling with my boat or cargo trailer and a load of family and luggage, etc.
I really hope this works out for you!

So far with sliders from WhiteKnuckle and rear bumper with swingout and jerry cans on rear...I have not noticed any change in how AHC performs. When I get it on front with winch I will be watching it as I have already decided that if it starts failing I am going to tear it out completely and put in the Slee Diff Drop with the Ironman Suspension kit.

So far so good though....it raises to HIGH....returns to Normal...and took down to LOW to put in garage to work other day with no issues.

Looks great, can't wait to see how it all turns out.

looks like mine except i had him put driving light holes in.

btw, i put a M12000 in mine and it was a bitch to get it to fit. Had to use a BFH to get it to line up and sit.

Ahh yes, Mjollnir. Nice little hammer.

Looking forward to seeing how the whole package comes together... Very Nice Brock.

The bumper and sliders have arrived. They were packaged well on the pallet, with shipping blankets to keep it covered and from getting scratched.

The install will probably start on Monday next week.

I've attached some pics of the bumper and sliders as they were shipped. The guy at my shop took the blanket off to inspect the contents of the shipment before I got there.

congrats! Bumper looks real stout! And nice sliders! Im guessing you will rattlecan them?

Man, those sliders look beefy! Whats the wall thickness on those? 3/16"?

Seriously debating between these and WKOR sliders now.

Yeah, I'm going to rattle can primer them and finish them with spray on bed liner. The plan is to make them good for helping :princess: get in the truck (grip) but easy to touchup after some trail abuse.

From the Bump It Offroad website:
"My new 100 series tube sliders are constucted of a 2x3x1/4" main rail with a 1 3/4" x .120wall tube rub rail. They attach to the frame with a 2x2x1/4" outrigger with 1/4" plate that is gusseted at the frame. U-bolts are used for mounting."

I liked the BIO sliders better than the WKOR sliders because the BIO use 1 3/4" Tube for the rub rail, and WKOR uses (I THINK) 1 1/2".

On the BIOR site, the sliders come powdercoated. How much less were they raw?
