Didnt really like anything on the market so i got a welder plasma cutter and bumper for what i would have spent on an arb or the like. Weight is 92lb (old plastic was 22 so i added 70 lb). Its held on by 12 bolts. I like the way it turned out and am now just waiting for the winch to show up.

will do. winch will hopefully be in today or tomorrow.

i have the lincoln 180 mig from crappy tire and we used flux core for the whole thing. the plasma is a chiry cut 50 from china. they make em for several other brands. a friend made a mass order straight from the manufacturer (like 22 units) and we got a smokin deal. 370$$ for the unit and an extra pack of consumables. the thing cuts 1/2 inch like nothing. havent tried much else yet and we did not have it set up for the bumper build so all the cuts were done w a grinder.

Damn, I think I really like that design. What gage was the steel plate?
Quick question, why did you not plate the left and right undersides of the wings?
It would give you a ledge to slide on and not an EDGE to grab on.
Great Fab job!

the main winch box is 3/16" and the wings are 1/8" plated and gusseted w 3/16". the shackle mounts are 3 pcs of 3/16 laminated and extend down to act as gussets at the tow hook mounts. i made em so they pull at the mid point of the frame rail on each side.

to mount i used the oe tow hook locations (4 bolts total), the oe bolts at the frame ends (2, after fully welding the frame caps), and i managed to fit a carriage bolt straight through the frame (top to bottom) by drilling out the bottom oe hole (top one was right dia. already). 2 bolts/side hold the wing struts on to the oe bumper mount.

i was going to plate the underside of the wings turning it into a "c channel" but it was getting portly. i still may at some point but am satisfied for now. bastard now youre makin me think i should have.

Looks pretty badass man, I agree with Tejas though it would be a little nicer to have those wings capped off.
