I feel your pain! My AHC failed, and after thousands wasted and several attempts to fix, I just dropped off my LX at ACC in ATL today to have AHC ripped out and having ironman 2" lift installed.
Need to do many of the same maintenance items you listed in order to go on that road trip you posted about. Wish I had more experience with a wrench.

Ha. I know. I PM'd you about the ACC work. I'm headed their way in June for sure. Please let me know if you are satisfied with the work.

I got all my 90k stuff in from CDan today, doing the whole list, including plugs and fuel filter ($=ouch). Dealership is doing mine, 100 is my daily driver so can't afford the downtime.

Dates for the trip are Aug 9-11 (in CO) so us southern guys will have to leave a few days before and get back a few days later. Be great if you could make it.

Will definitely update you on the ACC work. Thanks for the dates. So you ordered parts from CDAN and your dealership was ok with you supplying parts?

Andy. Sounds like a great trip. I spend a lot of time in CO during the summer. Last year I used my stock LX470 to tow my family, the gear, and my sports car to CO from Dallas. Once there, I did some amazing off-roading over some beautiful country. Pearl Pass was the most difficult trail that we covered, and we didn't have any trouble clearing it. I did have a fully functioning AHC system set to High.

My point is, it is a very capable rig when it is completely stock with Michelin LTX tires too! Do the upgrades for fun, but if you don't get to some of them - don't worry a bit.

BTW, I look forward to doing some of the same trails this summer in our stock LX570. The only concern I have are the stupid 20" wheels.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like you guys had a good trip.

I know I can probably go just about anywhere as-is, but I really do want to armor the truck up a bit. And since I'm removing AHC and doing the lift, I will have the platform to do it on.

a suggestion to help increase space at a relatively cheap cost, make a bed platform extension that replaces your 2nd row seat(s). You'll save a lot of weight and gain all that space. you could store all your food for the week under there along with clothes etc. That's what I do for my truck on multi-day trips. A welder, saw and drill (well I used a water jet) and you can quickly make a frame for the platform and then just top it with some plywood. I covered it in carpet after these pictures, but here's an idea for you.
