Lift, new shoes and hat... 2014 with only 36k miles on it. To chrome delete, that is the question. Ironman bumper and winch go on tomorrow (more pics to come)

For the side chrome-
The door trim pops off pretty easily. It takes some force, with at least 8-10 plastic plugs that snap into each door.
I used duplicolor spray bedliner to black mine out. Worked really well and I think it looks great.

I used Plastidip, but it is a shorter term solution. I get about a year out of it in that location. Proper automotive paint would probably be ideal.

Plastidip is a great option and the easiest.
Mine used to be plastidip, but then it got all knicked up when road debris took out my running board end cap and slung it against the truck. I used the wrong kind of cleaner/solvent to clean before I was going to recoat and it disolved the plastidip. I then went to defcon 5 with the spray liner.

delete the chrome! Plastidip is easy and mine has held up pretty well. I did it 18 months ago. a coiple nicks but eary to repair.

Nice pick on the tire size. As a self professed beef eater, I think that's a size that's underrepresented and could be a fitment more widely used.

Were you in the Grand Canyon several weeks ago? I saw a cruiser that looked like this one up near the El Tovar hotel.

Ok, well your cruiser looks just as nice as the one I saw, so good job on it!

@daftdesigner, no, I didn’t pull the panels off to paint. Just masked off to prevent fine overspray which is a pain to clean off. You actually want a bit of thick overspray onto the body paint so you can peal it off for a perfect line.

What did you use to pop them off? Putty knife?

Honestly, I just started at a corner and started gently pulling. A plastic putty knife, or the like, should work well.

Remember- The whole trim piece had to come off. The chrome strip is screwed into the surrounding painted part. It all pops off the door as a whole.
