As a few of you know I recently dusted of my buggy project so I thought I would post a few pics. I have the electrical, sheet metal and belly plate to complete and then it can be torn down to finish weld the chassis I am hoping to have it done mid July.
Some things that I have done recently worth noting was install a set of Inner Air Lock internal bead locks, they were very nice and light compared to other double bead lock options. Changed the mini ARB compressor to a larger unit that I got from Pep boys, I think it was called the tsunami :grinpimp: and was around 70 dollars? I took it apart to have a look around and had to clean up some stuff but what would you expect for $70? It moves quite a bit of air but I did not take the time to convert the numbers given to cfm. It will fill up my 1.5lb air tank from 0 to 120 psi fast. You can see it in the thrid pic below the cutting brakes.

She looks nice and low on 42's. NIce rig!

Looking real nice Matt. Can't wait to see it on the trails. Did you use Staun beadlocks? Gary

Looks great, tons of work there! You got to change your sig a little

"Tube buggy on 42s collecting dust" = Tube buggy on 42's dusted off a bit :)

One of the main goals was to have good viability with a front engined rig, while keeping the radiator in the front so I had room for my daughter's seat made it very hard to package.

I don't plan on competing but maybe at some point.

I didn't use Stauns I used Inner Air Locks they are in the vendor section. The construction seems to be the same, essentially they are a tubed tire with in a tire made out of fancy material, I am simplifying it a little :D when all was said and done they were worth the money to me. I had some pics of them when I was installing the locks but they didn't come out very well.

Bah...... not bad for a hack.......:D

Looks GREAT!!!! I can't wait to come out and see the progress in person:hillbilly:

Chris,

I do what I can with a 9volt battery some ductape and a service manual from a 78" Gremlin :flipoff2:

Mark,

I was thinking of leaving the "patina" on the hood along with the prerequisite titty flames:grinpimp:

Quite plainly the filter location sucks  but between the sloped hood, headers and hydro junk I had no more options...
I do plan on making a AL box for it to keep most of the junk off of it.

This weekend Jen and I got the lexan skins cut out along with the templates for the boat sides, belly and axle skid. I am getting the itch to take off some more time to glue this thing together.
