Well testing out the ac from Paul. It might need a little freeon. It's not as cold as I'd like for a 8000 btu window unit in a tent. .

Works ok though. Nice little access hole in the tent already. And the nephew and I are testing it out. Night y'all.

eh, ok, it seemed to be very humid, it would come and go, over all good, but very damp, which is kinda dissappointing, but I'm thinking it might have been that fact my tent top is mesh, with a fly about 3" above, so as to get air flow. I'm thinking that was why. I'm gonna put a thick blanket over it at SI. so see if that'll keep some of the cold in..

I figured that the rain fly and mesh would kinda suck. But didnt figure that bad. I was tempted to get up I the middle of the night and go put one, but I was already in my pj's.

I'm with you on your thinking, if the $100 a/c unit can work that would be great. Throw a blanket up there to cover the open, redo the test, report back with the results .

I don't disagree w/ you at all. My thinking at the time was that the dog A/C was 41#, quiet, small, an A/C AND a heater and then most of all, had a return air duct for pulling moisture out of the 80, which I was using it primarily in at the time.... Still happy w/ the purchase but it was ~ 4 big bills

Actually I don't think it does. I haven't tried to go above 75, but the only settings are

Cold
Fan
Energy Saver

So i'm not sure if it actually produces heat, or just warmer cold air....

Oh, I was talking about the dog house unit. A buddy of mind down there uses one for his custom teardrop camper.

DOG HOUSE is a hvac aka heat pump there for a/c & heat unit
