Heads up for the fj cruiser members. My wifes car windshield had a crack in it so I called a company to come out and change it out. Same price to come to the house or bring it in. The guys installing the new glass noticed my cruisers and saw the corilation between mine and the fj-cruisers. They told me that changing the glass on fjs is very hard and it cost over $1100 to change out. May want to make sure that your insurance covers that. Mine did.:D

Looks like a pretty common complaint...even found this:Toyota FJ Cruiser Cracked-Windshield Investigation

I have a nice crack in mine, took a solid hit from a rock one morning. I don't know if the glass itself could be considered weaker than another vehicle's glass. I'm more inclined to believe the high number of cracked windshields are due to the way they are set nearly vertical.

Well, my 40s are nearly vertical and I have never cracked one, and I have hit a 3 foot pothole at a speed that bent my leaf spring beyond repair. Maybe it is the way that it is mounted. Are they glued in, like most new cars? Maybe they don't have enough space for flexing?

Now I understand what you were saying moomtazz. Still with the angle, I have not had many rock chips on the windshield on 40s. Now, on my 60 with more of a aerodynamic angle( I don't know if you can use aerodynamic and 60 in the same sentence) I have had so many rock chips. I think I have changed out the windshield on the 60 at least 7 times, but I use aftermarket glass. Maybe thats my problem.

I have one small chip other than the large crack. The crack happened when I was bringing my son to school, going down the 2-lane stretch of Kaliste Saloom where they are doing some construction. There wasn't anything in front of me to kick up a rock, but there was one.

It was really loud, hit the upper corner of the passenger side, pretty much where the frame and glass meet. 6-8 inch crack popped up within minutes. I brought it to one of those glass guys and he put a little glue for free on it. It hasn't spread any further.

One thing I noticed on my first trip from Lafayette to Eunice was the thing is a bug terminator. Little love bugs sound like popcorn and a big dragonfly sounds like a gunshot.

Welcome. you can just forward me your TLCA number when it comes in. It can take up to a month before you get your membership info. If you email me larry@bslca.com I'll get you a BSLCA membership form. Good to have you and we'd like to hear the story behind your troopy.

I have a buddy named Donny Landry who I am trying to get to join the club. He is the reason why I started my cruiser infatuation when I was 16. Mike and Will know him as well. Maybe if we all lean on him he will join. He had a fj cruiser and just traded it in for another one with a 3 inch lift, winch, and other mods.

FMX...

I know some ...ok MANY are blurry but wanted you to see these guys in action... No cruiser relation but Landry and I did talk much about cruisers this nite...lol.
