New motor got a lot more workout than I though I was going to give it. Mudriding seems like ti is WAY harder on equipment than trailriding. I would rather get a few new dents, than screw up an engine anyday of the week.

Wow... doesn't sound like much camaraderie there bud. Probably coulda been a lot more fun that way.

Too bad on the pics of the Rhino... I need more pics in the thread of shame!

IH8Mud. That is all

You think I am going to give you ammunition like that to use against me in the thread of shame?! I think Not;)

Seriously those are some wicked little machines. and if I would have had my idiot brother in the truck I would have had him video pulling me.

And no, not much camaraderie at all, even from the guys I knew from working with them.

So did the Trans Am have to pull you out? Got pics? I'm going to look! Is that where the Bandit retires his rig after running block all those years?

No, the Trans Am didnt come give me a pull. One of my little brothers friends with a desiel dodge Pulled me out after nearly flipping the truck next to me pulling him out. These guys belive in momentum when extracting each other. They had one guy in a 86 toyota flatbed pickup with about 60 foot of strap. he would back up all the way to the truck he was trying to pull and get a running start. it was slick as hell but it looked liek he would still hit about 10-15 mph when he hit the end of the strap and these arnt the straps that give, they are the ones we use off shore than have no stretch what so ever. :whoops:

Worked well for him he had a overbuilt bumper, but he was jerkign stuff off other peopls trucks.

Jerking peoples trucks from a running start is very foolish and a way to break someone else's truck or bend the frame for laughs. The mini-trucks and 4-Runners can do well in the MUD but the right tires and gearing is the key to getting through the muck. Spinning the tires clean enough to keep traction. I spent some time in the mud in my younger days and thats enough time in the mud for me. 2 or 3 times to the car wash laying under the truck in a pancho trying to get it clean is more fun than I'd like to have these days. Stick to the trails you'll have a better time and your fellow club buddies won't try to tear up your rig when you need a strap. Getting a pic for the thread of shame is much less painful. :D

"they are the ones we use off shore than have no stretch what so ever" ......

I know the straps you are talking about since they were at the right price free I had one or two of them like you posted I also used them one time and found out they have no stretch to them but, I got to use them during the last hurricane to clear all the trees out of my yard.:) nothing like locking your hubs just to get in your own yard.

Those straps did pretty good at Paradise though, didn't they? Do the tow straps you buy at a store have more give in them?

well theres tow straps then snatch straps, eh? i always though the two straps (like the yellow ones everyone had a paradise) had basically no stretch to them and were supposed to be used for towing and if doing an extraction make sure its taught before pulling. the snatch straps are like elastic and are designed to used with speed using the momentum of the tow car getting the stuck one out.
