It has been productive should have a complete frame, and tub mounted by the time I leave. Next trip wiring and interior and should come close to being done. For a break I'm Headed to the National Park for camping tomorrow a couple nights. Its in the 50's a night and mid 70's during the day :) We had rain only 1 afteroon in the last week. Big change from the rain for what seemed like two weeks straight at home. I hate to see the yard. Any whos hope you guys have a great meet tomorrow I'll be thinking of you all and hope you have a great cruiser kind of a day ;)

The Orange 70 tub headed off to be blasted and POR 15 sprayed on the under carriage. The exterior paint for sitting in the weather for 7 + years held up pretty amazing. The stripped 70 frame being pulled out the garage. Will be headed to Lafayette with the silver tub to start the trail rig as soon as the 67 is out.

Well, talked to my welder. On monday I am going meet him and we are goign to make the final plans for my bumper, and he says he can probably have it back to me before I get back from work next week.

I just cant decide if I should have him build a plate style bumper ala ARB, or a tube bumper like the marlin/allpro bumpers. He says he can do the plate bumper for less(?) because there will be less fitting than trying to make all the tubes mesh.

The onlything that keeps me away fromt he plate bumper is it seems like it would weigh a ton, but would be stroner for the winch.

I vote plate...

1. It's "stronger"
2. Looks
3. Just say, "No" to tubing
4. Looks
5. just cuz
6. $$

Well, you certainly did a good job getting those pics sized and uploaded over dialup my friend. Enjoy the good weather. It's all humidity and rainfall here. Pretty soon, we'll all need malaria shots...LMAO...

Takes lots of pics. It's absolutely breathtaking. We missed you today, BTW...nice work~

Ok, I know my supension has problems but check out the Sami I have been watching the buildup on in Crowley.

Sami002.webp

from a distance it is not all that bad, very tall but tuff looking.

Sami003.webp

Now the problems (the larger ones at least begin to appear)
3 inch blocks front and rear, and check out the the shackles (like I have room to talk, atleast mine look a little sturdier than these).

Sami004.webp

I didnt even notice this until I sat down to write this, look at the sway bar... No end links, just welded directly to the shock mount. Also I dont think the U-bolts for springs are suposed to have that killer angle to them.

Continuing on.

A better look at the axle and the u-bolts. Never seen a spindle on a sami up close before. notice the springs are almost flat... with no engine transmission interior or driver. Install rvrything and it will probably have reverse arch on the springs. Rears arnt as bad though.

Lets back up a bit and look at the big picture fro a min. Hmmm no front drive shaft, no big deal this looks like is is still very much a work in progress, no engine no transmission....

Sami001.webp

No front differential. Did they even make 2wd samurais? I hope someone didn't go to the trouble of cutting the ends off of a Sami axel and welding tube in between them. Course he has massive lift, and who cares if it is just two wheel drive if it is never driven offroad. I saw a chevy with a duramax in truckin magazine with like 16 inches of lift, 46 inch tires, and 2wd. But it LOOKS like it could (?) go offroad right?

I just want to add, if I could have gotten my truck next to his I would have taken a picture fro comparison. my truck is tallish, this truck from walking up to it looks like ti is a good foot taller than mine.

i read the email that scott sent out and it said yall were workin on new window clings, which got some ideas flowing. i noticed the bezel outline yall have on the back of the Tshirts and thought it would be cool as a 4 or 6" sticker. well i whipped these up in PS real quick just to see what it would look like, and i threw in BSLCA in the middle.

but whatever, like it or ignore it, i was just bored on a sunday night :p

We only have our logo in cling at the moment as you know. I like it... you may have a small business in front of you! :D

We actually played w/ the bezel as a logo some time ago before ours was born.

wow, thats....interesting. is that at a shop or somethin?

I don't think so, they have another car being worked on there but it looks like ti is just private owners working on their own cars. the other car is a sunfire with a body kit that looks like it is 35% bondo, and 45%primer

Those lift blocks are hot....

:Borat: not!

They better have an ambulance follow that thing, lol

It looks like you need  windshield wipers on the inside of the windshield instead of on the out side . LOL
