Congratulations. Enjoy your new shoes.

Out of curiosity- how many miles on your 99?
Do you have the original shocks?
Are you going with the OME lift?

Where is Chuco? I don't guess I've ever been there.

The rig had 77k when I got it, about 82k now...
Yep, still original shocks...for now
I'm pretty sure I will go with OME , it seems to be what works on these vehicles from what everyone else around here says, it seems to be the way to go.

It's a DD so I'm not too crazy about experimenting with un-proven equipment.

And finally... youv'e been toEl Chuco (El Paso) Texas!! :flipoff2:

looks great.........now lift it :D

I said I wouldnt.........but am so happy I did :)

Thanks Tabraha,

I did like that color as soon as I saw it. I though it was a cool combination with the grey interior, plus its gonna look great with a grey power-coated Slee rear bumper!! :D  :D

Lift is next Pimp

As soon as I work out the kinks between my camera and computer, I'll post a few other pictures I took.

In case anyone is interested. I tried to get some shots that would show the diff between the old and new tires in terms of space from from wheel wells at full turn and while straight. Keeping in mind that the truck suspension is stock and sitting on level ground.

Also, I know people ask about this a lot, a shot of the spare mounted underneath. It fit fine with about a couple of inches to spare on either side.

Stand-by for pics

Nitts pic update

I hope i resized this pics correctly...

First shot is the spare a few inches from rear bumper...

Next is the spare a few inches from a bar, towards the front end...

and finally, a shot of the wheels turned all the way to the right, with no rubbing at all.

Now I gotta find a place to get 'er muddy! :D

given that the change in tire size effects the speedometer reading, was that taken into consideration... has the speedo been re-caliberated yet.
btw, the new tires look better than stock !
good luck.

lexs,

I "researched" this forum for that and many other issues that might arise as a result of going up in size from stock, and from what I saw, 295s would be the limit before I got into issues with calibrating the speedo, gears, etc.

The info found on this site, if you look and listen long enough, is pretty sound and usually comes from informed individuals.

Thanks!

the only reason I asked this question is because on a different forum, (different car), this site was posted so that the correct tire can be installed, and also to make necessary speedo adjustments.

I tried the stock size and the 295/75/16's and the speedo turns out to be off by around 6.7 mph. meaning that: "when speedo reads 60mph, you are actually travelling 66.7 mph" (as per the website)just an FYI so that you are aware of the speed corrections.
the tires do look great and makes the cruiser look bigger as well.
good luck.

Actually, you are correct, I'm not exactly sure of the difference. I think I had read that it would be about 5mph or so, so 6.7 mph might be more accurate.

Not enough (for me, anyway) to justify the expense of re-calibrating the speedo, but enough to be aware of! Thanks for the info!
