Hi all! First post here. I recently replaced my ABS motor, just the electric motor, which great, no more alarms and lights, but now the brakes don’t release pressure, meaning they build pressure and basically lock up. When I activate the abs (the good ol gravel road method), they release and it rolls fine. What’s going on here? Do I need to bleed the abs more or what what’s everyone’s thoughts?

Any chance you extended the shaft to the pedal, so now the master cylinder isn’t releasing?

Did you remove the entire master cylinder assembly and replace the motor on the bench, or did you replace the motor while the master cylinder assembly was still in the vehicle?

I’d stick your head under the dash and make sure the MC shaft is able to fully extend. It makes sense in my mind that when the ABS electrically cycles it relieves the pressure, but once you press the pedal again it won’t release unless it fully extends.

You’re a life saver! Thx a ton
