Since this is my first time tackling this job I had a question on setting the pre load. The fsm calls for a "special tool" to be used. On the forum some use fish scale and some just go by what is feels like....I want to do it correct. Since I don't know what it should feel like I don't want to do it to tight or to loose. When I asked Napa for a pre load bearing tool I got the deer in the headlights look....it was 7am. Any opinions and/or guidance would be appreciate it....

Any fish weight scale will work. Just hook one end to wheel stud, pull on other end and watch for weight reading of when hub rotates. FSM is 6 - 12 pounds

Exactly. The one Kelly has is from Bass Pro shops. Very simple. We just tightened very snug, then backed off about a 1/4 turn, then check with the fish scale (hook the fish hook on a stud and pull...the fish scale will tell you how many pounds it takes to turn it). Then tighten or loosen accordingly.

Just wanted to make two points here.

1. Sammy, very proud that you beat your spell check addiction. Our little boy is all growned up.

2. Credit needs to go to Erik on the Bass Pro scale. Perfect tool.

Thanks gang. I shall update the build once this job is done.
