Brake lights 1989 Toyota Pickup

I was wondering if any of you have had this problem. I have a 1989 toyota 22re and no matter what ive tried i can not get the brake lights to work. Ive checked as the fuses, wire connections. The daslights, taillights and turn signals all work. Any help would be appreciated

how about your brake switch?

yes, check your switch first. if your switch is good then check to see if you have 12 volts positive to it. if not, like in my case, the wire to the fuse box is bad. it turned out the guy who installed my alarm firked up. i end up cutting the wire and tapped it into the fuse box for 12 volts positive.
