Having an issue with brakes - while stopping with 'normal' pedal pressure, the whole vehicle jerks - almost like the brakes are grabbing and releasing constantly. You can even see the light from the headlights jerking up and down. It happens in cold (just pulled out of the garage) and hot (been driving for a while) situations and occurs about 75% of the time. Under hard and very light braking it is not present. I have checked rotors for warping, bearings, pads (bearings, pads and rotors are fairly new) bleed the system and have had two different set of tires. Have also done a visual inspection of suspension, bushings, etc. Any ideas as to what to hit next would be appreciated (calipers???).

(And yes, I'm back)

Thanks

Sounds strange. Had something similar happen to mine after Moab last year, but it was more noise than jerking. Had a caliper missing a bolt and bracket, it was just hanging there...

I have a similar issue. It feels almost like a warped rotor, but more like an intermittent grabbing and releasing than a lateral wobble. It'll happen if I'm traveling on the freeway and I slow at a medium/heavy, but non-panic, pace from 60 - 45. It doesn't happen when I jump on the brakes or when I brake normally around town.

Last time I did my pads, I didn't have my rotors turned. I was planning to just get new rotors on the next brake job. I may try to fix this by getting the rotors turned between brake jobs (the pads still have a lot of life left but I want to fix this). Any idea as to how much this should cost (I seem to remember it being pretty pricey to turn rotors on the LC).

Thanks!

Check to make sure that your parking break drums arent sticking. look at the diff from behind while someone applies and releases the parking break. The cantilevers going into the hubs may no be fully releasing.
