I tried to hi-jack a different thread but decided to just start another. My brake fluid reservoir cap does not have anything attached to the bottom/inside of it. No float. It is just a flexible rubber cap that pops on the top of the reservoir.

I have had the LC for about 2 years and have not had any brake problems.

My FSM is at home and after reading the "green goo" thread it has me wondering if it was removed at some point.

Any pictures of the proper reservoir cap with or without attachments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Riley

This is from my 94. The other pics you were looking at were from a non-abs 91-92. I think you're normal.

Thanks MoJ!!! My wife and kids are driving up to Washington tomorrow and did not want to worry about the brakes.

Thanks again for the picture and reassurance!

 Riley

P.S. Do you know what the "Close - Open" on the reservoir housing refers to?

Nope - As far as I can tell it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the removal or replacement of the cap. Have to get someone smart to answer that one.

My '94 has a cap that locks on by twisting in the close direction and opens by twisting in the Open direction.

There must be a couple of different cap/reservoir set ups on the 80s. I am going to check my FSM tonight and see what it shows.

No float on my '94, there's an electrical plug on the passenger's side of the reservoir that I'd assume is for the low level sensor. The cap is the same one pictured by MoJ. Our '95 has the float.

Thanks for all of the input! I was concerned seeing a cap with an attachment, knowing that I did not have one.

It seems that each year received a different set up (even different caps for '94s as EricE described).
