Sorry Jim if this isn't the correct forum to run this sort of thread/question, but I'm looking for 2 wheel cylinders, 2 master cylinders and a clutch slave cylinder. If anyone has any or all of these please PM me. This cruiser although my oldest is my only running FJ and my girls are driving me crazy because it's presently inoperable. A simple clutch slave cylinder would get it up and running again, but I'm a little hesitant of taking it on the road without getting ALL cylinders resleeved.

The 2 masters 2 wheel cylinders would allow me to get everything done correctly without downing the vehicle. Please let me know if anyone could help.

thanks

I'll see what I have for cores, may be a couple days though.

I know I've got wheel cylinders, masters I'm not sure. Maybe someone else has some near the top of their pile. :) Should be able to use a 40 slave cylinder, just swap the operating rod.

that's what I thought, but the thread pattern was different/larger with the FJ25 slave.

I looked all over the place to see if I had a different flex line that would coordinate a newer slave with the older hard line fitting but had no luck.

I'll find it when I won't need it;).

I don't remember what I did. Maybe there is a different hose to use?

Doing the heads on my father's Mitsubishi right now...................my brain is spinning from all the plastic, aluminum and electronics............forget what cast iron looks like..................

I'm using them as paper weights on the bench, but I just left the shop for a few weeks...

I think I used a 60 series slave on my red 25...

One of mine is using a later style 40 (pre 71) master cylinder for the barkes. Not sure what year but the pressure switch it still being used. On the clutch couldn't cost too much to change the whole thing master, slave, hard line and rubber hose. The wheel cylinder I thought someone had found a replacement. I have a set on 25 axles laying around but I know at least one had the brakes removed and were pretty rusty not sure about the other.

I'm eventually going to have all the wheel cylinders, both masters and the clutch slave resleeved, so I didn't want to have to make adaptations that I'll have to undo.

We live out on a 32 acre ranch with surrounding dirt roads that the kids love to drive around in the FJ25, just looking for some spares so as not to have to down the vehicle.

thanks everyone:steer:

I think if your 64 has the clutch master and slave just bolt it in for now. I think you might have to enlarge the holes in the fire wall. On my brake master it's has the brake line hooked up just like original. Probably the same with holes in the fire wall. These are simple mods that are real easy to undo. The original master cylinders are pretty hard to come by. I have two sets out of four FJ25s. The others are coverted to FJ40 parts. The wheel cylinder someone found I thought were a direct bolt in. I can understand not wanting to change backing plates and converting to FJ40 brakes. But the master cylinders are pretty simple.

I was able to come up with a clutch slave in my limited stash:), thank you Al:steer:.

I'm still trying with a couple of contacts for the 2 master and 2 wheel cylinders.

I sure could. I'm out of town until Wednesday though.

Are you looking for some for your own vehicles?

Mike (foxfab) has some really good pictures of his master cylinders after he had them resleeved.

I had my master and clutch cylinders reservoirs resleeved by White Post in Virginia and they did a great job. I need the rebuilt kit or a new slave cylinder that is attached to the side of the trans.

Thanks

Sean,
I've got two stripped wheel cylinders (no boots or pistons), haven't got to check on the master. Send me a PM if you want to swap cores.
