There are 7 girls on a bus.
Each girl has 7 backpacks.
In each backpack, there are 7 cats.
For every cat there are 7 kittens.

How many legs are there in the bus?

PM or email me for the answer and/or explanation.

ok, it seems to be 238, but i'm sure there is a trick.
if question asked "how many legs were "ON" the bus", i'd say none, just tires.
so what's the answer?
hurry up and give us the answer, suzy is putting todays land cruiser orders on the ups truck while i'm hiding in the office.

No clue but between the kids & cats on a bus.................:eek::eek::crybaby:

I WOULD JUMP WHILE IT'S MOVING:skull:

14 legs on the girls, 196 on the cats(49 cats x 4 legs, and 1372 on the kittens (49 kittens x 7 cats x 4 legs) =

14+196+1372=1582

I'm sure I'm missing something, but that's my guess and I'm sticking to it

Ya'll have fun this weekend walking out da house in 5 bound for Oxford, MS and the LSU/Ole Miss Game.

10990 is my guess

7 girls x 2 legs = 14 legs of girls

7 girls x 7 backpacks x 7 cats x 4 legs = 1372 legs of cats

(then figure out # of cats) 7 girls x 7 backpacks x 7 cats = 343 cats

343 cats x 7 kittens x 4 legs = 9604 legs of kittens

14 legs of girls + 1372 legs of cats + 9604 legs of kittens = 10990

He doesn't say that the girls are carrying the backpacks, just that there are 7 girls on the bus. So my answer would be 14 legs, 16 if you include the bus driver.
Do I win?

yeah, that's what i thought at 1st but i'd say you have to assume the backpacks are on the bus as well. you can even get more screwy and say each girl is sitting on a bench seat that has 4 legs, or the bus driver isn't in the bus because he never said the bus was moving.

Are any of the girls (or the cats) amputees or have birth defects and is the bus moving or is it stationary? I believe that there is not enough information to answer this questions. Besides, the girls may be "on" the roof of the bus and not actually "in" the bus.

Your honor, I move for dismissal.

DING DING DING...we have a winner.

10990 is the correct answer.

somebody get on that bus and count them legs!
i think my college professor at utmartin must have counted those legs. he never had the same answer as i did. he was always wrong. but he had the nerve to give ME the F.
it's a conspiracy i tell you!
