Boy I miss having a Cruiser

You have a 91 camry w/ 85K miles? Wow, that is hardly broke in. Other than rusting apart, that transportation module should last you at least another 100K miles.

But yeah, it aint a Cruiser. Just a typical soul-sucking japanese transportation appliance.

Don't have a 60, but have a fairly nice FJ40 up for sale. Spark any interest?

...show me. Realize i am broke.

Oh and the Camry - Despite having 85k miles on it, it's got some weird fuel delivery issue i can't figure out. It runs rich - fouls plugs quicker than s***. I've replaced the MAF and O2 - still bad. Thinking it might be a throttle position sensor or the computer. It's just been sitting for weeks now.

So, like, if you were my client from hell, I would say:
"Keep replacing random parts. It's more cost effective than diagnosing and repairing the problem." :p

But serisly, any codes? Pin test at the ECU? ECT or IAT sensors test OK?

Tried moving this before, but now a little more interested. Every time I work on the darn thing it becomes harder to think about getting rid of it. I've had it since 1989. It's been garaged for at least the last 15 years. Now has a 350 and 465. ARB in the rear. Just put on a starter, alternator and new battery (dual BTW). Hasn't been off-road since installing the 350 about 8 years ago. $6,500.00 or I'll listen to reasonable offers.

I feel ya, I bought an 89 4Runner to hold me over.

that's a real purdy truck. Let me see how my bonuses pan out over the next month or so and i might hit you up. I did do a little research to see what you were selling and found the thread.

Jim-the only code that pulled was for the distributor, but that one went away when the MAF was replaced. I'd need to check again as i've not looked recently. maybe i should bring it to you, as my mechanic isn't doing s*** at this point.

Yeah, I know about the bezel thing. For two years the nose of the Cruiser's been pointed into a corner of the garage like it did something wrong. If I get the extra time/energy I'll flip it. Besides, there's a lot of other things the purist LC police would bust me on. Call me a rebel.

Runs rich would have me looking at the fuel system. Like the fuel pressure regulator and the vacuum hose that's usually attached to it. Might also chase along the fuel return line for a collapsed section. I seriously doubt the computer is bad. TPS might be out of position but would normally set a code if failed. Me thinks you need a new mechanic that's a little more Toyota literate. :)

If that's the same shop that put an FJ40 head on your old FJ60 I would say RUN ,don't walk, away from that shop! They are doing you no favors. I'd let'm change some tires and maybe the oil but beyond that...

Your old 60 is gonna donate some parts to a 40 project and otherwise be parted out. I didn't know it had a 40 head on it either until I actually checked casting numbers for Jim. How it blew a head gasket with such low compression I'll never know (at least not until I pull the motor apart to build it into a 2FE :D)

I'm in Savannah, GA now on business. Back in Troy Friday evening. Got plenty of pics. The link's dead cause Road Runner changed things up. I can send you pics and give you a description of the Good, Bad and really...not so much Ugly.
