Pacific Northwest has some of my favorite American Single Malts. Westward and Westland are fantastic. Have to add Penderyn to the listI thought I had posted up about this last year when I first went but I guess I didnt.
My BILs brother just moved here a few months back. He is a big time whisky drinker like me so I was hoping to take him a small but what I believe is the best Whisky bar in the world. I've always said to be considered a great whisky bar over here then you need to have a Penderyn on you list. Not because it is the best or most expensive whisky in the world but it a very very solid one that is well priced and not well known at all. They have four.
Anyway I was going to take him here for his birthday but because it is so small and there is no way to do an outside area they are currently closed.
But anyway here is their spirit list. (Its long 188 pages but skip the start till the whisky starts and don't sign off till you get to the hardcore porn list)
Anyway @mtweller @shellb next time u are in town we are going. @GarnerFJ40 @Fort Knox @lumbee1 and anyone else if you make it out here we are going also.
I lived 2 blocks from Westland for a few years. I went to all their special nights and tried all their limited releases. Solid stuff.Pacific Northwest has some of my favorite American Single Malts. Westward and Westland are fantastic. Have to add Penderyn to the list
Yes they have! They make good stuff now, if you haven't been doing a tour of their distillery is pretty fun.Tonight was a John Bowman Single Barrel kind of night while watching the Bama/Buckeye game.

For those familiar with it, they used to be the bottom shelf distillery in northern Virginia making a plastic bottle of everything. They have come a long way.

When I went there a couple years back they were making their own mash and all.I need to go see their distillery sometime. I'm not sure if it's still the case (I don't think so), but for a while they were sourcing a lot of their white dog from Buffalo Trace and then re-distilling it and aging it themselves.
Any occasion is a good time for some Redbreast!Getting ready to raise a toast to Patrick’s Snake Removal Service. View attachment 2608945
I'll have to retry Widow Jane, it's been awhile. I'm with you on the IW Harper and Blanton's. I prefer Eagle Rare or EH Taylor over it. I'm probably going to be selling off my high end bourbon collection and just stick with the stuff I know I like that is reasonably priced.....Widow Jane for the win tonight. It’s fantastic. IW Harper, not great. Also, Blantons, not a huge fan. Tried it for the 3rd time tonight and it’s just not very good to me. Anyone else?
