Bought the wife a 2014 GX460 for her birthday, and I have some questions.

Personally I think she's just jelly of my 80 Series, but all jokes aside, this thing is a sweet ride.

I'm hoping someone can answer my questions on this new to us beastie.
1) At shut down, there is a distinct sneeze, or chuff sound into the air box. Is this normal? It reminds me of a back blast into a filter to knock the dust out.
2) Sometimes the side mirrors tip down when backing up and sometimes they don't. What's the logic to this? I would greatly prefer they didn't automagically tip down. When completing a K-turn out of a driveway, I can see where this could get one killed.

Figured #2 out. position of mirror switch L/R or center.

Your power mirror switch has a left, right and neutral in the middle. Put it in the middle and the mirrors should stop auto down in reverse. The noise after shut down maybe your air pumps, probably normal

Yep. The noise at shutdown is the air pump doing it's thing. Completely normal.

And the mirror switch got me too when I first got the GX.

Actually the "tilt down" option is very handy when backing up into a tight spot that's below the belt line of your vehicle, e.g. narrow painted lines in a parking lot, parallel parking against curbs, etc. Also note your mirrors will also power fold in too! Very handy when off roading on tight trails and parallel parking on narrow streets and parking spots.

Actually... I told her she needs to exercise the Lo range and the center diff monthly. Told her she needs to get out on the sand roads and the forestry trails....she didn't say No.
