Had my bud install it......$48 from Bell Lexus in AZ........

It squealed like a feral hog being shot from a helo.........

So 2 weeks later.........I ordered a Continental belt from Amazon........$39

Also wasn't taking any chances.......also ordered an idler tensioner pulley......

Do you think the OEM belt would not have squealed with a new pulley ?

I realize after 96K miles..the pulleys & belt are like kinfolk.......

Add a new component....like adding a red headed step child to the family......

New belt & pulley now are as quiet as a church mouse on Temple Square............:)

The tensioners are known to stick at higher mileage

Yes, I do believe that if you had replaced the pulley and the OEM belt at the same time you would not have had experienced the squealing.

While I haven't replaced the belt & pulley on the GX, my wife had a Honda Civic years ago that matches your experience with the squealing idler pulley. After that, I just made it a practice to replace the belt and idler pulley at the same time.
