Well at least new to me. After talking to a bunch of people (Mike Fox, Wally and Pat) they talked me out of the Hobart Ironman 210 that I was thinking about buying from Northern Tool for $1169. Everyon told me to go Miller and consider finding something used. I picked up this Miller 210 tonight for $750.

Now I just need to run 220v out to the garage. :bounce:

Running the cable shouldn't be too hard since there is conduit that goes from the garage right into the foundation. The problem lies in the fact that I need want to update to 200 amp service since my panel is pretty full.

We did the 200 amp switch a few years ago. The electrician charged a flat
$1000 for the job. He took care of the permit, having the town inspect and
getting with the electric company to put in the new meter.

You'll love having your own Mig, I use mine all the time!

hey where is my honorable mention??:(

Nice color...

I myself had to go with red and black it's a color thing:D
Miller makes a real nice unit. This lincoln 175/220 works really well and I use a 10/2 25' ext. cord off of my dryer plug so far so good as long as its a 50 amp breaker. Now you will need to accessorize gloves, flux, slag hammer, self tinting hood and plenty of scrap steel....

Had an electrictian friend of a friend come over yesterday to look at the job. He said that we really didn't need 200amp service for the house. He said its based off of square footage and the only thing we run 220v for is the oven so we should be fine.

So hoping to get the cable run this week if we don't have ice in the conduit that runs to the garage.

As for gloves, a chipping hammer and stuff I already had it from my 110v machine but the guy also gave me this stuff too.

I plan on ordering a self darkening helmet from Northern Tool this week.

Thank you Jason for calling the guy to make sure it was still for sale after I saw him repost it in a more public area of Craigslist. I didn't want to call as to seem too needy.

One of the guys in my welding class picked up a nice auto darkening helmet on sale.
I got mine at AirGas and it was marked down $80.
Look around.
