Anyone have any experience of giving these pumps a tickle?
Not had chance to mess yet, looking for a heads up.

MW pump... Should be 10mm elements. I thought MWs couldn't go anywhere near that big, hence why the mercedes guys like to swap to the M pump...

If it's the same governor as what the mercs use, there are some good guides to adjusting them on an American Mercedes forum, I think its called peach parts or something.

thanks mate.

what do you mean by "couldnt go anywhere near that big"?

it on a OM 364 LA.

ill have a look at the forum you mentioned.

The different inline pumps are intended for different fueling levels. So there is a physical limit to how big the elements can be in each type of pump.

However I was wrong, the MW pump is a bigger/higher potential pump than the A pump. I'd read about the merc car guys swapping from MW to M and just assumed the MW was a small pump. In reality I guess they do that because there is an active community upgrading and tuning M pumps, but probably very little info on MW.

The MW was used on Mercedes OM617 in the US. While an archaic motor its very popular for swaps here. Your comment about aftermarket support/upgrades is largely true but Mercedes pump guru DieselMeken now offers upgrade elements for the MW pump. This was a lengthy development effort for him. His mods to the MW pump can supply enough fuel to grenade the OM617 in short order.

cheers fellas.

my OM 364 LA is a 4 litre 4 cylinder turbo intercooled. same motor as the big 6 litre 6 cylinder engines, but with two pots lobbed off.
