Hello and merry X-mas,

I am looking for a little help on where i should head to buy body panels to fix up the 40. I am hoping to have new floor pans, inner and outer rockers, both front and rear door bottoms etc. welded in this winter. Pacolonline, CCOT, Real steel cruiser parts and cruiser corps all offer products, but which one is most recommended?
I do appreciate all the advice.

Thanks, Jim.

do a search on here and you will find what you need ,some of those companies dont come highly recomended .good luck

Rocker panel option

If your rocker panel rot does not extend to the curves at the base of the doors this may be an option. The rust on mine was only in the flat part of the panel and on the edge of the floor panel behind it.

I had access to a sheet metal brake but it could not make the 2 bends close together to duplicate the ledge on the door sill.

Making the panel in 2 pieces and welding them together made a good clean ledge and a strong assembly. Backing it up with a separate sheet metal beam kept it flat for finishing.

My guess is that a purchased panel would have required a lot of the same custom fitting & welding.

Nice work Cleg! Ingenious way to tackle the problem.

Crap! I'm jealous of those of you with fabricating and welding talent! Nice job, and I love the truck color. Is that an original paint color?

Last, the truck looks as though it's not ever outside. Is it garaged?

Hoping if things go ok here to build a 2+ car garage...time will tell.
