Its that time of the year where we have BOD nominations.

Anyone can nominate themselves for any position there is (only restriction is the VP ones you have to live in that area or frequent that area enough to be able to do meetings in it)
Anyone can also nominate anyone else for a position that they think they will do good in but the nominee can easily decline.

I'd like to nominate the current board since everyone is doing a great job! :flipoff2:

I'd also like to nominate Darin for the URE/ONSC liaison officer since he already fulfilling that positions duties! My .02!

Once the nominations are closed (I'd say 30NOV2012) I'll create a survey monkey website to do the voting, which will be open until the end of the year. All current members will get an email (make sure you're up to date on membership and contact info) with the link for the survey.

I say we create the survey at the December URE meeting...

WHOOOOA Nellie!

I can barely sort my ratchet set out..isnt there some kinda pre-qualifier ?

I wouldnt have to run any marathons or perform ritual sacrifices..would I? Cause I like beer. I love my 40. But Im not so good at kissin' babies..metaphorically speaking.

Nope... really as long as you like cruisers and can plan some meeting of local members you're golden.

I have to respectfully decline the nomination..if a stand in is needed I'll do whatever is needed - but I can barely commit to my family as it is..thanks Meatball for the thought.

Based on the discussion going on in the BOD section, I say we hold off on nominations/voting until after our December URE trip and the holidays.

For those who do not have access to the BOD section of the board, there has been discussion of streamlining the BOD with fewer positions, staggering the voting to limit the turnover, and extending the length of the terms. Everything is still just a discussion, and nothing concrete.

I'd like to discuss this at our meeting in December, and posting potential changes after the meeting. We could then potentially update the Club Bylaws, which need a refreshing anyway. We will then vote in January, and in Febuary we'll have the new BOD take "office".

However, unless I hear a strong opposition for the changes, I propose permanently changing the terms of office from January-December, to February-January. That gets us away from the hectic times of the holidays, and also closer to our Meet and Greet event to announce and introduce the new officers.

If you have any suggestions/oppositions please post them here, or PM me if you don't want them public.

Good ideas Brian, I'm in favor of both waiting till we can discuss at the December event as well as permanently changing the time of elections.

Works for me.
