Going to try and make it. My daughter is driving in from L.A. that night so I may need to work around that. What time? Before or after happy hour?
We aren't that formal, so it's really not that critical, there will be people there at 6PM and probably a few long past 10PM.

Well, I'm out for the meeting too. I ran into yet another problem. My tow rig just blew a head gasket. I have all the luck....anyone wanna rub my belly?
Run may or may not still be on this weekend. I may take a few friends up on borrowing trucks to tow with. May end up at Willow Springs instead of Lower Woodpecker though. Not sure yet.

Aint that a b*tch! You haven't been playing with the turbo have you? I never heard much about people having head gasket problems until they start goofing with the waste gate to get more than 30 pounds of boost...
Willow springs would be cool though. I haven't been up there since the last time I ran it with you before I moved out of LA.

Nope....bone stock. I left it alone to make sure it was "reliable".....what an effin' joke.
Anyway, we are on for Willow Springs leaving my buddy's house at 9am on Saturday. He's 3 miles away. I would guess we'll be at the trail turn off around 9:15.
Permits can be had for free at the NFS headquarters in Mesa (good for 6 months).....it's moved since I last got one. The office is now just south of McKellips off of Higley. It's the first street south of McKellips. The street is on the west side of Higley. I guess it's a big government building....supposedly, not hard to miss.

JFYI....from what I hear they might be calling it "bulldog canyon" permits....if "willow springs" doesn't work.
Also, if Brian needs one, I *think* you're allowed to pick up one for another person but you are responsible for that person's actions on the trail.
I'm already picking one up for a friend.
I'm embarrassed to say it, but I can't remember Brian's last name. If either Branden or John can remember, d'you mind getting one in Brian's name? I'm sure he'll be responsible.
Branden, have you told John about the change of plans?

PS. Planning CB channel 4 or 14. 4 is first choice....but if skip gets bad we'll switch. I'd imagine we won't make that change until we're on the trail though....so if you're on your way....channel 4.

Last time I picked them up for others, they needed the license plate # for the truck(s) they would be driving.
