Just curious if you're planning to go to the meeting next week (I think it's supposed to be next Friday anyway)?

I saw some threads mentioning problems with the QuikTrip and police.....is that squared away?

Will it be okay to bring my trailer and junk? Is there somewhere specifically I should park it?

The buggy should be done by the end of the weekend.....not in time for a shakedown, but I'm pretty certain it'll be ready for the test run next weekend.

Sean

Yeah I'll be there on the 15th... it's kinda my job. Wheeling the 16th?

You can park it anywhere as long as it's not blocking access to the gas station. We got everything worked out with QT corporate, so no more hassles.

Brian,
I'm thinking Lower Woodpecker first....Saturday morning. Not sure what time yet.....I'll post up when I have a concrete time schedule. If all goes well there, I'll probably go up through Middle and then either H2H or AA or who knows.....I'm sorta playing it by ear.

There's a few things I need to check carefully the first time out and if I run into any issues, it may be a VERY short day. Not sure you wanna come all the way up from Tucson if that happens, but you're more than welcome to join us.

Branden,
I know you're President and all ;) .....just didn't know with the holidays and the new baby what your schedule allowed.

So, can I take it that as long as I'm parked in some spaces (probably will have to park across at least 3 with the trailer) I should be fine?

Oh, and yes, planning on wheeling the 16th.

Sean

Who all is going? Maybe we (the others showing up) should have a "Plan B" to fill out the day if we have to get you back on the trailer early to go fix something.

Well, as far as I know right now, Eben's bringing his buggy. Dave is bringing the TJ/Juggy. Larry is bringing his buggy. Randy is bringing a bone stock 86 Toyota 4x4 truck to watch. Kerry may or may not show in a highly modded CJ on 42s. A friend of Eben's may be there in his Campbell buggy. That's all I know of currrently. Oh, and Mike might be there in Larry's old buggy.

I'm sure if I take off early, you can tag along with them.....now, whether or not you can keep up.....??

Hope that last comment didn't come off wrong.....there's not much in FJ that's very difficult, but these guys are running 3-5 trails a day now so it's pretty fast paced.

Sean

Cancel the trip. The full hydro is fawked, the steering arms have to be modded and the POS Atlas doesn't shift. And I'm sure there will be a myriad of other little BULL**** problems I don't even know about yet. Fawkin' great.

Nope, completely understand. Nothing like a boat anchor slowing the whole group down....and my jeep is kinda short to move real fast.

Well, it went from one problem to the next today. First the diagram for the port locations I got from Pirate was wrong. So, when I steered left, it turned right and vice versa. Fixed that only to find that when I tried to bleed the system with the engine running, the pump has a pin hole in the tig welded port for the return line, so now I need to order up a new pump and have this one rewelded.

The Atlas not shifting was my fault. I didn't realize I had the front Toyota case in neutral. The wife figured that one out.....which was a good thing since I was ready to sell at that point.

The steering arms definitely need to be modded, but I can do that this week. Next weekend is doubtful, but I did take it for a spin around the block tonight. It was nice to actually have it move under it's own power.

NICE!

I'm still down for a run on the 16th. I'll have a plan B if needed. I need to get out, it's been close to 3 months sine I've wheeled.

Oh yeah, I should be there this Friday. I am up for a wheeling trip on Saturday or Sunday also. Too bad about all the little gremlins that showed themselves Sean, but you really couldn't expect it to all work perfectly the first time right? ;) The rig's lookin good...definitely need to bring that beast to the meet on Friday.....I need to see those rock lights work!

I'm down for the Woodpeckers to start then we can decide from there. Depending on the quantity of vehicles that Sean's group has we can decide to split out or whatever.

Sean, any word on what you plan on running?

Well, I'm not really planning anything. I don't know for sure if my junk will be together in time.

I'm going to JB Weld the leaking pump tonight. If it dries and doesn't leak, I'll bring it to the meeting Friday. If it does leak, I'll probably skip the meeting and not take it out this weekend. In fact, if it doesn't happen this weekend, it most likely will be after Christmas before I get it out.....got alot on my plate as the holiday approaches.

If all goes well, I'd guess Lower Woodpecker and then play it by ear.

Sean

Forgot to mention....reason for JB Weld. Can't get a new pump anytime soon. I've got a new style all cast pump with no flimsy ass thin can to leak coming from Station, but it won't be here for about a week (at the earliest) and I don't want to take this one off, leak fluid everywhere, only to have to change it out when the new, nicer pump gets here.

Fawkin' new pump is $400 though. Youch!

I'd say no earlier than 9am at CCR staging.
