If you play with the lights you will meet "Fuzz'" comrades-in-arms for sure. Go with loud's black contrast strategy instead.

You need hood blackout too.

I'm curious...why would painting the non-reflector portion of the headlight housing attract any unwanted attention? Especially considering that some vehicles come like that from the factory nowadays? My bet is that 99% of the people out there wouldn't even notice, much less care. Besides thinking that it doesn't look good, there isn't anything about it that's illegal.

Not sure about other states, but I know in CA you can get a fix-it-ticket for tinting your rear lights - law says they have to be red and be visible from 1000ft. They can also get you for non-DOT approved lights if you mess with them.

IMO, don't mess with the lights front or rear, they look fine. Focus on blacking out the F/R bumpers and the side trim first. Black out your brake calipers, too :)

I think my brake lights are visible for at least 10,000ft.

10,000 feet, thats all? You're selling yourself short. You could land aircraft with them.

I was talking about the films and sprays. Not just illegal but actually unsafe.

Ah, gotcha. Sorry I keep taking you out of context.

Physically reducing the output of the headlights by putting covers/tint on them is something I've never understood. I think "smoking" the taillights looks good on certain color cars if done in moderation, but completely blacking them out is equally as stupid as blacking out the headlights, for the same reason. Its dangerous...especially around here.

Blacking out headlights is so 90's. My brother has GTS black headlight covers on his Camaro. and it actually looks better with em than without, since custom work had been done to the headlights, it looks rather ugly and 'incomplete' without the covers on. To each their own really.

It's not like he'll be BLINDING people with his GLAREing HIDs 55 watts of POWER like Fuzz :flipoff2:

Just teasin brother

Don't hate on the HID's prematurely, they aren't even installed! Hell, they haven't even arrived at my house yet! :flipoff2:

Maybe I'll get some GTO headlight covers from LJ to tone them down a bit....
