I’m planning to attach a Black Widow motorcycle carrier in my 06 Lx470. With my bike and the carriers weight it’ll be approx 600lbs additional weight. I’m planning on road trips with the bike I.e 300mi plus trips
My question is :
1.) How is this going to affect my AHC ?
2) If I lower the rig when loading the bike, will the AHC be overstressed with extra weight when I move it back to normal height.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

600lbs additional weight
Might be worth looking at the Kings KTRS-79.

We had a camper trailer with around 200kg (450lb) ball weight, and they made a big improvement to the car's handling and ride - especially on the rougher tracks. Sure the ride is a bit firmer unladen, however the WAF (wife approval factor) of the LX's ride remained very high.

I built my own. The same but different. Will require air bags to get the weight back on the front end. If your AHC is healthy it will allow for height adjustment with the weight added on. However, I recommend not utilizing the height control with the air bags loaded as it will cause them to shift and could lead to damage to the fill ports. Again, if the system is healthy then lower, load, raise, and then fill. Also, by design the BW and others like it will not be very stable and will bounce around which will amplify the "lightness" on the front end. I built mine to also bolt directly to the frame so it is a "solid" unit.

I've logged several 1000 miles with my set-up and has performed nearly flawlessly. I have had a couple air bag issues so care must taken and continuous inspection of them. They will shift so I found I would need to deflate, reposition, and fill. I have noted my issues with the air bags in another air bag specific post and is mostly due to the valve and it position in the perch.
