My Land Cruiser has been sitting since august.
I changed it over from points to a pertronix unit, new spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and installed a new header.
Before I put in the pertronix, the truck ran very well (the stock points had burned out and I was having a hell of a time finding replacements).
Since Putting in the pertronix, the truck seems to be running very rich. When I hit the accelerator, I get puffs of black smoke. that said, the truck is just sitting, and I run the truck up to operating temperature to keep everything lubed up and good to go. But the truck hasn't been driven or the engine been put under any load since August.
Would changing to pertronix cause this kind of issue? Could I have been over fueling but not getting good combustion because of the points?
thanks!
