check out LFD offroad cross bars. make sure to get the wind deflector that they sell. it will help a lot with wind noise. I have 2 bars and a wind deflector Im trying to sell so PM me if you are interestedI’m looking for low profile crossbars for the black line edition. I don’t like the OEM and I tried bc a set for the j150 Prado, but the wind noise was more than I’d expected.
Anything out there yet?
I reached out to them when was build was allocated and they said they couldn’t confirm their bars would work the the black line rails since they are taller the standard GX rails. Are you saying you have a pair and they do work on the black line?check out LFD offroad cross bars. make sure to get the wind deflector that they sell. it will help a lot with wind noise. I believe the gx470 has a similar rail design to the 4R, with a channel on the inside of the rail to mount the crossbars. Unless I’ve missed something that I could remove, the black line rails are a smooth surface. The black line rails are raised. Same as the Prado and LC200. I had a Pro 4Runner before this GX and actually liked the OEM basket-style rack on the Pro. I felt comfortable with a few Plano boxes up there on 6+ hour drives on the highway and off-road.Correct me if I am wrong. The black line has raised rails? Going in reverse here but there is lots of discussions of putting raised rails on the GX that doesn’t come with raised rails. The conversations are that the GX470 rails fit and also some rails off eBay fit. So why can’t you go to the dealer and just order non black line rails.
I’m looking for low profile. Yes, the black line have model specific crossbars. They are just too tall for my taste. Ideal state would be to get LFD bars built to the raised rails on black line models. There are specifically "Black Line" crossbars?
But also, wouldn't any quality black cross bars work?
The Westcott Designs LC200 rack is exactly what I’m looking for. It maintains/mounts to the OEM rails and provides the versatility I need.Any photos of what you're looking for?
I have an idea of what the blackline rack looks like, mostly like the 4runner correct? Is a flat top what you're looking for with flush fit rails?
I think the LFD are similar to that for the 4 runner and they may be adjustable width.
The photo shown includes their covers. The structure of the rack appears to be all 80-20. It would likely also work for those seeking a RTT solution. I came from a 4R TRD Pro and I actually found the OEM basket suitable for my needs, once I added 4 additional crossbars.I see now. I do like that design. Everyone mounts above the rail, this somewhat drops down. I assume this would preclude RTT use but be great for all other roof loads due to weight and mounting
