Does such a thing exist in English? Or maybe a Canadian spec BJ70 manual- as the closest thing?

Do you mean a workshop manual?
You have to get the chassis & body manual which covers all 70-77 series and a separate engine manual for the B engines from Toyota

I think Max Ellerys do a manual that covers all models.

Ebay australia often have used factory service manuals

I have the engine and body manuals. I mean the little OEM Owners Manual that comes in the glove box.

That will be a little more diffcult.;) Ebay Australia is still your best chance

Thanks Rosco -- I will look.

I have an 87 BJ70 (Canadian). Luckily for me the PO was quite anal and gave me the original bill of sale, all maintenance records, Toyota toolkit, Owners manual, and an 87 Toyota product guide (in a lttle Toyota pouch). The Owners manual has better info in it than the shop manual I purchased!

Theres no way I'm selling any of that gear! But, I could scan parts of it if you would just like the info....

i have the original owners manual, it has all those neat little doodles to explain how things operate, i never found an english version......

OK, I'll start scanning this coming week-end....I'm out of town now. I would like to keep a reproduction in the truck to keep my original nice and diesel fume free.

I'll put them together into one pdf file and I can email it out. Not sure how the "PM" thing works though????? If someone can explain it I'll keep a list of adresses to send it to. It may take awhile as it is a long manual.

Thanks -- that would be a valued service to the TLC community.

I believe the Canadian spec BJ70's did not have A/C and may have lacked other 'deluxe' features, such as electric door locks, headlite washers, power windows, etc., but still the Owners Manual would cover all the other basics that would be very usefull for the Japanese spec vehicle coming in.

You're correct...the most luxurious item I have is intermittent wipers! And thats just the way I like it!

From memory, the manual covers a range of models (including wagon and ?convertible?) and may discuss other factory deluxe items.

If you go to the "User CP" section in the top title bar, you will find a list of all of your PM (Private Messages). You can cut and paste the e-mail addresses you get and then delete the messages to avoid having a pile of them.

I'll send you one now to see if it works,

John
