I'm working on Charla's BJ73 tonight and when I dropped the winch I noticed that the shaft has been rubbing on the hoseclamp of the lower rad hose. Are all 70 series PTO winch shafts that tight or is the Canadian spec BJ70 rad (I swapped it last summer) a little taller?

Is it the metal that's rubbing or the inch of mud? :)

Seriously, can you elongate the rad mount holes and shimmy it up 1/4 inch?

The BJ73 is supposed to be a pavement princess but ended up driving to camp at the Quesnel Canyon Crawl and was the second lowest rig of 50 on the trail out. The lowest was a stock sidekick on 29" swampers. I'm spending the day tomorrow cleaning and painting the underside.

More curious than anything, I'll be relocating the winch in the new bullbar bumper. Before anybody asks, a pavement princess needs a bull bar when it does most of its miles on or near the Alaska highway. It should likley be called a buck bar though. It won't help much with moose.

They are all tight, yours looks too tight. Mine was about the same. I raised the rad a few mm and lowered the winch mount a few mm.

Wow that looks awesome, How did you clean the rust spots before paint? I'm kinda in the process of doing the same thing. but I need to clean the undercoating off and wire wheel a bit too. I painted the outside drivers rear only. It looks good but it real tedious. I was wondering how other did it with everything but wheels attached.

Nice Bruce...
