Is there an alternative to the factory rubber body mounts on a BJ70. I just got back from Toyota and they want over $800 for all the pieces. Any advice would be helpfull.

Thanks

I put 1" body lift pucks on my BJ70 from 4crawler.com. It's an inexpensive and reliable way to get more space for tires. A couple added benefits on my turboed 3b is that it ran a little cooler due to more room for air to exit the engine bay, and the hood cleared the turbo plumbing better as the engine stays at the same level but the body is moved an inch higher. I had to do a little trimming on the bottom of the fan shroud but I didn't have to raise the radiator.

hockey pucks :hillbilly:

Thanks again jonb96150. Ordered a 1 " lift kit for a BJ70 yesterday from 4 Crawler, also from 4 Crawler a bushing replacement kit for a BJ 60/62 as they did not have anything specifically for a BJ70. Will get the stuff in about 3 weeks, if that doesn't work, then hockey pucks it is.

I think I was the first 70 he had sold to, so he didn't really have a kit for it. Some of the bolts he provided were too long, and I had to get some from the parts store. But I sent him the measurements for the bolts so maybe he now has ones to fit a 70. But to be safe, compare the old and new bolts. And IIRC it wasn't the overall length that was the problem, but rather that the new bolts were not threaded deeply enough. So the nut bottomed out too soon.

do not use hockey pucks.
