Keeping in mind turbo coming soon. How many hrs labor for an install?aprx. Best line routing, wiring etc. truck is high miler. Should I plan for Berings n seals? Thanks in advance. New tyres OME all around. Future dd part time cruising Boreal forest/shield slick rock

Does he have 4.11 3rd members already built, or is he gearing from scratch?
FWIW when I had my BJ70 it had 255/85R16s, I ran 4.56 gears and it was just about right. Though I see you're planning a turbo - the BJ74 was fine with 4.11s and 33s.

My 70 had the ARB compressor mounted under the hood, on a plate bolted to the DS inner fender behind the headlight. It worked out ok.
My 74 I mounted the compressor inside the cab, in the rear bolted to the side of the drawer. The air lines run into the cab through the rear seat mounting bolt holes (turfed the rear seat in favour of a storage drawer).

I don't recall how many hours the ARB install took, but 8 years ago the shop that did it charged me about $500 in labour per diff, with me dropping off the 3rd members and supplying all the parts. I think...

The gears are seperate. It's a scratch build. I can get them for 300$ they are used but in perfect condition. I'm being quoted 9 hrs total. I'm hoping to bring that down through sweat equity. But the labor sounds close.

If you're doing both from scratch my only thought is to make sure you're going to be satisfied with 4.11s, you don't want to do it twice should you decide they aren't enough, or you step up to 35s.

Thanks eh bj70 guy. I'm/ he's only running 235/85r16. With The gears n turbo I was hoping to be able to spin them. (Ok quit laffin) and still have decent hiway top end. (Really stop laffin) am I dreaming?

Glad to know this won't be a cluster muck. Can the ARB comp supply enuff air to inflate tires I'm not familiar with output levels.
