Thanks John and wrongway around for informing me of your most valuable sources!
We seem to have a problem now again...
So first, we took it out for an actual first drive onto the highway. Up to 40 km/h it seemed ok then on the acceleration lane a huge cloud of blue smoke puffed out for about ten to fifteen seconds, then it was okay again.
Afterwards on our way back the engine started to overheat... so we stopped and cooled it down for a bit and then cautiously drove home.
The handbrake was kind of stuck too, so i took some WD-40 and sprayed it and used a hammer to tap it open again. (temporary fix)
For the rest of the night and evening the truck drove well, no smoke, no overheating. Rarely went over 2000 RPM.
Then just after midnight, I was driving a friend home. The drive was fine but i encountered quite a steep hill before his home. I was going around 2200 RPM most of the way up (it was five blocks)
And when I got to his place it was still fine.
Then after I left, I stopped at a traffic light and I look in the mirror and oh no i see puffs of white coming out of the tailpipe. Idling at ~750 and it's just puffing out. I start driving again, and the smoke just goes away. But when I got to another traffic light and stopped, it started puffing out again...
Most of the rest of the drive home had no stops at the lights but when i was a couple blocks from home, (thank goodness the rest of the way was down slope) the truck started overheating again. When I turned on the heat blower, it was instantly hot.
I park, (with the smoke starting to billow out again) shut off the engine, and open the hood and i can hear it go blup blup blup blup blup. The radiator hose is just super hot.
Help!
blup blup blup sounds like water boiling in the block.
Check your coolant levels once it's cooled down. Check for a head or head gasket failure.
