:censor:Looking for some help identifying and sourcing body panels & parts for my 1981 JDM, Diesel, RHD TLC BJ44.

Can anyone tell me if the FJ & BJ cruisers are essentially the same from the windshield forward and when it comes to Hoods, Grills & Fenders...are there any specific measurements out there I should be verifying and should I be on the lookout for any other pitfalls or unknowns when it comes to these bigger parts before I buy any (new or used) and from any of the more common cruiser companies in the U.S. selling them and pay for freight only to be :bang: or :(.

Within the last few months I learned the hard way that the rear barn doors on an 81' JDM BJ44 are "NOT" the same as many others and have rounded bottom corners vs. square. Despite my asking and being told the doors were an exact match....they were not :censor:!

If there is already a thread regarding this please forgive me for starting a new one and feel free to direct me to it. This is my first thread here @ MUD. I do more reading than writing but hope to change that as I begin some resto work on my rig.

Thanks in advance to all the GR8 human resources on MUD that share as much as they do about these rare gems.

rear doors are interchangeable with same generation body, pre or post 79.
basic body parts are exactly the same with same generation, pre or post 79, pre or post 75 etc.
be very careful of which companies you use to supply your parts. just because they are on Mud or deal in cruisers does not make them reputable.
the only real differences are the side panels roof and body and floor in length, duh.
enjoy.
