Hello,
We have encountered a problem. We have a BJ42 1982 3B engine. The inside of the cylinder liner is 102 mm, the outside ring is 105 mm, and the gaskets are only 106.8-107.5 mm. We have a 1-1.25 mm gap around the circumference. Will the gasket expand when the head is pressed and fill the 1.5 mm gap?

It probably won't, but does it matter?
So long as it seals, then it should be fine.
The increased combustion chamber volume is trivial - what's your worry?

“Seems” wrong. As 45Dougal points out will probably not hurt performance, but I would at least want to call a different supplier and have them measure a different head gasket.
